First off, I want to say that some of the things i say, might offend or insult Christianity.
Christianity and Norse Mythology are actually very similar! but in reality, the Norse religion came first, so did Christians actually steal parts of the Norse religion? it would make sense, the Norse were in various parts of the world, could Jesus or other prophets actually put together a very good story? I think so, i have found undeniable evidence, for example, Santa Clause, we all know him, big fat guy big beard, gives candy to all good children, well, the Norse have their own version of this. It goes that Odin, the all father of the gods, rides a horse called Sleipnir, across many houses, but children leave Hay and water for Sleipnir, and in return for the generosity from the children, Odin fills their stockings with candy and other presents. Although this might not convince you, there is plenty more to go! Another example is about God and the Devil, we obviously know about them both but once again.....the Norse have their own version, there are 2 Gods, Loki, and Thor, they are half brothers, Thor is the best son of Odin, and Loki...is not so favored at all, Loki is the god of evil and deception and such, just as the devil, but Thor, he is strong, courageous, Just, and much more, such as the Christian god is, but the 2 brothers have a very very bad history, look up some stories of the Norse, and you shall see.
A VERY convincing example, is when Jesus was Crucified, then resurrected and was then more wiser and lalala, but there is a similar story to this, about Odin, he Hung him self from the World Tree for 9 nights, suffering from Hunger and Thirst and even Wounding himself with his own spear until he gained the knowledge of Runes. See the similarities? Some are different, but the prophets of Christianity could have easily altered the stories. Some stories i do not even have to compare to the Norse ones, like Noah's Arc, scientists have proved that the sea level to be that high, would kill everything and everyone, due to the extreme moisture in the air, you would basically breathe water in. Now, i know what you might be thinking, that "But what if the Norse copied the Christian stories!? Well, that couldn't have happened, the Norse stories came first, including the religion, and Christianity was made AFTER the Norse Mythology was made.
I have thought of some more things, and of course i found another! I managed to match up Angels/Cherubs in Christianity with Valkyries in Norse Mythology. But first lets get an idea on what exactly Angels, Cherubs, and Valkyries are. Angels are basically messengers of God, Cherubs Sustain the throne of God. Then Valkyries are Female Warrior type people who will decide who will die in battle, and serve Einherjar mead and Valkyries also have a very interesting part with humans, read it on some other sites! But basically what i matched up was that Valkyries help Odin by serving Einherjar and in the end, shall fight for Odin and for Asgard, so there is the Cherub part and a little bit of the Angel similarities. On ward now, Angels are always described as to having "wings", Valkyries them selves do not have wings, but the horses they ride, have wings, allowing them to reach Asgard and Midgard from battle to battle very hastily. Angels are also known to "guide" humans. As do Valkyries, Valkyries actually had.......relationships with humans and heroes, and in the end, they help guide humans and heroes to Valhalla, where Einherjars prepare for the events of Ragnarok, as Angels help humans to heaven.
Another quite Interesting one I just remembered was on the day of Ragnarok, or Doomsday, the apocalypse. In the bible, the last battle in the end of days against evil and good, will be taken place in a very wide, open field, with a fort atop. Although, this is also very similar to the battle against good and evil in Norse Mythology. Vigrior is the place where the final battle will begin in Norse Mythology. There are also a lot of similarities in the details also! In Christianity, basically the whole world will be consumed with fire from the depths of Hell. With evil creatures arising. In Norse Mythology, it is quite the same, the whole world will be consumed with fire, and all the giants will gather for 1 last battle. Both Norse Mythology and Christianity have 1 thing that is the main character of the end. In Christianity, it is obviously the Devil. In Norse Mythology, he is Surtr, a giant wielding a very powerful firesword.
